Phixr is a free online photo editor - a complete imaging solution that works within your web browser.
|
Let's pretend you are on vacation. How's that for a start.
Now, let's also assume that you are at some internet cafe in a country far
from home and want to email the photos you've just taken with your digital
camera or mobile phone to your friends and family at home to share the experience.
There is only one problem. Your supersweet travel companion has some ugly red
eyes on your photos and looks more like the devil than anything. Also, these frickin'
photo files are huge, apart from their desperate need for some color adjustments.
.... Too bad... the computer you finally conquered at that internet cafe doesn't
have any image editor installed.
That's just one situation where Phixr comes handy! Another typical case are
computers in schools or companies where users are not able or not permitted
to install any software.
With Phixr you can edit your photos in every possible way and directly e-mail
them to your friends, or upload them to your account at the following third-party websites:
Let's dive into it... (Tutorials for some of Phixr's features can be found on our blog.)

Facebook, flickr, Google+/Picasa Web Albums, Photobucket, Twitter: Phixr never actually sees your login data for
these sites. Instead, you need to actively authorize Phixr to access your data through a process
performed on each of these sites themselves. This authorization can be revoked at any time. The revocation is
done through the respective site itself. In order to grant
Phixr access, please go to the Settings page
and follow the instructions. For Photobucket and Twitter, no special procedure is required; authorization is
done during the upload/download process.
SmugMug, Webs: Phixr needs to know your login data in order to access your photos
stored on these sites. You need to enter this data on the Settings page
before you can download or upload photos from/to any of these sites.
ImageShack, LiveJournal: You can choose to either have Phixr
store your login data, or enter it before every upload. In the latter case, Phixr will not store
your data. It will only use it once and then forget it.
If you choose to have Phixr store your login data, we do our best to protect it. We will only store
encrypted data and never reveal it to anybody, including you. On the Settings page
you will only see a placeholder in password text fields, never your actual passwords.

- Photos uploaded to Phixr can be of (nearly) any size. However, Phixr will - according
to your choice - shrink or crop photos larger than 1.6 megapixels (which translates to approximately 1440x1080,
or any other width/height within the limit of 1.6 megapixels).

- Phixr is no photo gallery application. People can't even see your photos. Phixr
is strictly for editing photos. Therefore, there is no point in storing your photos forever. Instead, we
remove them from our servers if they remain unchanged for a certain period of time (currently 12
hours).
